Etiquette for Diddy's Staff; Another Biopic for Scorsese?

- What does "protocol for new hires" entail at Sean "Diddy" Combs's Bad Boy Records? Etiquette training with Dawn Bryan, the author of The Art and Etiquette of Gift Giving. The self-described "international protocol expert" gave staffers a crash course on a variety of subjects, including the "use of dinnerware at formal events, how to hold chopsticks and how to present a business card in Japan, guidance on giving business gifts and how to choose wine, hold a wine glass and eat caviar." - Blogger, author, and Chris Jones antagonist Tom Scocca is leaving Slate to become Deadspin's managing editor. His arrival coincides with the non-departure of senior editor Tommy Craggs, who was rumored to be headed to Bill Simmons's Grantland.com project for ESPN, but "when [Craggs] obliterated Page 2 'editor' Lynn Hoppes on Deadspin...Grantland/ESPN higher-ups grew even more skeptical about his hiring, and John Walsh, ESPN's executive VP, wanted to sit down with Mr. Craggs and express his misgivings in person," according to a post from Deadspin editor-in-chief A.J. Daulerio. This happened eventually, at "the fancypants Essex House near Central Park at 11:30 a.m.--but it did not alleviate either man's doubts about the other. A source close to the situation says that Walsh's concerns centered on Craggs's treatment of ESPN employees in his writing" In any event, he's staying and Scocca's coming. [Deadspin]
- Yuri Sucarat, Alex Rodriguez's cousin and "drug mule," who, by A-Rod's own admission, injected the Yankees slugger with performance enhancing drugs on road trips is travelling with the Yankees again, and MLB officials aren't happy about it. Sucarat, who had been banned from travelling with the team, was reportedly "spotted at the team's St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco Tuesday night after the middle game of the Bombers' series with Oakland," and that he came along on road trips in 2010 and 2009. The league is said to be "investigating" his presence. [New York Daily News]
- Paramount is apparently serious about developing a Richard Burton/Liz Taylor biopic for director Martin Scorsese. The studio is said to be finalizing a deal to option the rights to Sam Kashner and Nancy Schoenberger's book, Furious Love: Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton and the Marriage of the Century. [Variety]
- At least Courtney Love's legal troubles aren't just confined to inflammatory messages posted to Twitter. Yesterday, a Beverly Hills judge ordered her to pay $35,000 in unpaid wages to two former maids. [Gatecrasher]
- Rielle Hunter is shopping a book based on her relationship with John Edwards, but it sounds like it will be light on red meat. She'll "apparently discuss her relationship" with the former vice presidential nominee, "but not the resultant coverup" their affair yielded. [Jezebel]
